Image Capture Modelling for High Resolution Reconstruction

چکیده

A research topic that has been receiving much interest recently is the reconstruction of a high resolution image from an ensemble of low resolution images of the same scene. Such image fusion implies that each low resolution image individually does not contain all of the available information, and therefore must be subject to aliasing. The reconstruction process involves resampling the ensemble at a higher sample rate, effectively unscrambling the aliased information. However, the reconstructed high resolution image appears blurred because of area sampling caused by the sensor, combined with the low pass response of the camera electronics. By modelling the image capture system, the point spread function may be estimated and then removed by using inverse filtering in the frequency domain. If the individual low resolution images are subject to a spatially variant point spread function (resulting from perspective or radial distortion or focus limitations), a more complex spatially variant inverse filter must be used.

Collimator-detector response compensation in molecular SPECT reconstruction using STIR framework

Introduction:It is well-recognized that collimator-detector response (CDR) is the main image blurring factor in SPECT.  In this research, we compensated the images for CDR in molecular SPECT by using STIR reconstruction framework. Methods: To assess resolution recovery capability of the STIR, a phantom containing five point sources along with a micro Derenzo p...

Methods to evaluate the performance of kilovoltage cone-beam computed tomography in the three-dimensional reconstruction space

Background: Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanners for image-guided radiotherapy are in clinical use today, but there has been no consensus on uniform acceptance to verify the CBCT image quality yet. The present work proposed new methods to fully evaluate the performance of CBCT in its three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction space. Materials and Methods: Compared to the traditional methods...

Using Terrestrial Laser Scanning and Digital Images for 3D Modelling of the Erechtheion, Acropolis of Athens

This work is part of the project “Development of Geographic Information Systems at the Acropolis of Athens“. Within this project one of the aims is the generation of a textured, high-resolution, accurate 3D model of the Erechtheion and a realistic computer animation. For most parts, we used a medium-range time-of-flight (TOF) phase-based laser scanner with minimum lateral data spacing of 1 mm a...

High-resolution dynamic 31 P-MRSI using a low-rank tensor model.

PURPOSE To develop a rapid 31 P-MRSI method with high spatiospectral resolution using low-rank tensor-based data acquisition and image reconstruction. METHODS The multidimensional image function of 31 P-MRSI is represented by a low-rank tensor to capture the spatial-spectral-temporal correlations of data. A hybrid data acquisition scheme is used for sparse sampling, which consists of a set of...
